President Obama Outlines Stimulus Suggestions
President Obama outlined new measures for economic stimulus and jobs creation today. While he did not say how much his proposals would cost, the President said that we must "spend our way out of this recession." He emphasized job creation as part of his proposals, and called for tax cuts for small businesses that hire employees in 2010, and eliminating fees on small business loans.

Goldman Borrowed $15 Billion From Federal Reserve
Data obtained through the Freedom of Information Act by Bloomberg News revealed that Goldman Sachs (GS) borrowed $15 billion from the Federal Reserve in late 2008. This was the biggest single loan during the previously undisclosed crisis era program and these loans had to be repaid within 28 days.

ITT Educational Services (ESI) announced that they entered into a new private education loan program for their students called the PEAKS Private Student Loan Program. Under the PEAKS Program, an unaffiliated lender will make private education loans to eligible students and, subsequently, sell those loans to a trust.
